The Tamilnadu Branch Of All India Occupational Therapists' Association (TNAIOTA) is a branch of A.I.O.T.A and works for the upliftment of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapists in Tamilnadu. The Committee members (Office bearers) of TNAIOTA are elected by the General body through election.

BYLAWS OF TNAIOTA

1. To assert for the welfare of OT professionals in tamil nadu.

2. To appeal state government to appoint OT’s in already existing vacancies in government sector and to create new government posts for OT’s in tamil nadu.

3. To take necessary steps in regularizing the pay scale for OT’s.

4. To promote awareness about OT in general public, student community and medical community.

5. To insist government to start an OT institution.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONVENOR

1. Shall be responsible for governing all the activities of the association.

2. Shall be responsible for organizing/planning and conducting GB meetings once in three months.

3. Shall be responsible for working along with the secretary and other office bearers to decide and implement the activities of TNAIOTA.

4. Shall be responsible to conduct minimum one program related to promote awareness, one program related to academics and one activity related to gaining the attention of the government once in a year, if situations favorable.

5. Should be physically present during all meetings if not three out of four GB meetings in a year.

6. Should conduct the executive committee meetings with other office bearers as and when needed.

7. Should be responsible for planning and appointing an election committee to proceed with the subsequent election 2 months prior to the completion of his / her term.

8. Shall be responsible for deciding membership fees after discussing it with the other office bearers and members.

9. Shall be responsible for the issuing membership card/certificate for those who registered as members/student members.

10. Should take initiatives to register TNAIOTA under Tamil Nadu societies act if needful.

11. Shall be responsible for accounts of TNAIOTA in addition to the treasurer.

12. Shall be responsible for communicating the activities of the TNAIOTA to the central body in addition to the secretary.

13. Should take necessary steps along with the treasurer to open the bank account [joint account operated by convener and treasurer] on the name of the TNAIOTA.

RESPONSIBILITES OF CO-COVENER

1. Shall be responsible for all the above said responsibilities of the convener in the absence of/resignation of the convener.

2. Should co ordinate with the other office bearers to ensure successful completion of all the activities planned on behalf of TNAIOTA.

3. Should be physically present during all meetings if not three out of four GB meetings in a year.

RESPONSIBILITES OF THE TREASURER

1. Shall be responsible for documenting all the financial transactions made on behalf of TNAIOTA.

2. Shall be responsible to produce the balance sheet during every GB meeting.

3. Should handover the account particulars with all documents, vouchers, bills, pass books and balance sheet to the person who is replacing him in the event of resignation or completion of the term.

4. Should issue receipt for the members upon receiving the membership fees from the members and co ordinate with the convener to issue member ID card or certificates.

5. Should take needful steps to open the bank account on the name of TNAIOTA and to make all the financial transaction through the account.

6. Should be physically present during all meetings if not three out of four GB meetings in a year.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF SECRETARY

1. Shall be responsible for communicating with the members regarding the date and venue of the meeting.

2. Shall be responsible to plan and implement the activities of TNAIOTA.

3. In the absence of treasurer shall be responsible to produce the balance sheet during the meeting.

4. Shall co ordinate with the other office bearers as and when needed.

5. Should be physically present during all meetings if not three out of four GB meetings in a year

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

1. Should be physically present during all meetings if not three out of four GB meetings in a year.

2. Shall responsible for coordinating with other office bearers as and when needed.

NOTE: IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED RESPONSIBILITIES ALL THE OFFICE BEARERS ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS AND WHEN DECIDED BY THE GENERAL BODY OF THE TNAIOTA.
